Subject: Re: Company towns <fwd>

A minor example: Dupont, WA, after the vast concern back in Delaware.

Another from WA state, though an odd one:
Pullman, WA
'The town adopted the new name in the hope that George M. Pullman,
(railway) car manufacturer, would endow it, which hope was never
realized.' - 'Origin of Washington Geographical Names' Edmond S. Meany,
1923

Carnation, WA
Named for a prominant regional dairy company
