The Western Association of Map Libraries (WAML) has also been working on a "Scanning Projects Clearinghouse" for its principal region. The WAML executive board recently approved a project developed by Janet Collins and Julie Sweetkind-Singer. Chris Kollen of MAGERT and Janet Collins of WAML have had a number of phone conversations and emails to collaborate on their respective projects. The results of both efforts reflect a sharing of ideas, information, and compatability, although they are not identical. It is a goal of WAML to be contributing to the national effort of collecting information about scanning projects across the United States.
The WAML project will include an online form on our website to be available shortly. Searching will be via a MS Access database. The WAML website is at www.waml.org.
