Mike: Only the Jackson Purchase area of Kentucky was mapped using the township range system. It is no longer used in Kentucky. However, D.J. Lake's 1880 atlas of Graves County, Ky. shows township and range. The area you describe is about 1 mile SW of Cuba, Kentucky, around 36 deg, 34 min N and 88 deg, 38 min W.

Hi Paige,

Yes, that's correct...Tennessee was part of the State Land States,
therefore didn't participate in the Public Lands Survey System (PLSS)
where township and range was used.

I'm working on Graves County, Kentucky and I'm
trying to locate Section 10, Town 1 North, Range 1
East. I notice that the DRG's I have on TN do
not show township/range numbers along the edges.
Does anybody know why this is? Can anybody tell
me where the location above is in lat/long?
