Hi everyone:

The American Congress on Surveying and Mapping Bulletin 191 (May-June
2001) has a feature on careers in cartography. While there is no mention
of map libraries, it is interesting and quite comprehensive.

Samples: The Generation X of Surveying and Mapping
         What's in a Name (Geomatics)
Becoming a Cartographer (incl. selective list of universities)
         Careers and Salaries

There is also an unrelated article called "To Do the Other Things; CORONA
and the Secret Cartography of the Cold War", which describes the CORONA
spy satellite program of the 1960's.

Single copies of the ACSM Bulletin are available from the Congress at
$8.00, plus postage and handling.
