JOB DESCRIPTION:
 
This position will be responsible for the performance of various technical work
in the development and support of a variety of land use databases.  This
individual will help to design, implement, and maintain the GIS databases for a
variety of clients.  The GIS Specialist will be expected to write programs to
help automate data collection & processing procedures and to facilitate spatial
analysis of existing data sets. This position will perform data conversion, and
integration of external data sources, particularly AutoCAD, into ARC/INFO based
GIS databases.  This position may also require presentations to clients.  Good
writing skills is a plus.
 
Technical Requirements:  Candidates should possess an extensive knowledge of GIS
data processing principles, tools and techniques and their application in a land
planning .  Skill and ability in the development and maintenance of GIS data
using ESRI GIS software products.  Skill and ability in the development,
implementation and support of GIS specific programs in AML and Avenue.  Ability
to integrate Oracle Databases and ESRI GIS data sources and products is a plus.
 
Education/Experience:  Min. educational requirement of a Bachelors Degree in
GIS, Geography, Planning, Computer Science or related field and a minimum of
three years practical experience in the application of GIS in a private sector
or municipal environment or any equivalent combination.  Strong technical
experience with ESRI GIS products is preferred.  Formal training in GIS, GPS and
related technologies is a plus.
 
Other Requirements:  The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously as
well as the ability to work with and/or train less technically knowledgeable
staff.  The ability to work with a variety of personalities on group projects.

Full-Time Location:    Irvine, CA  (Orange County)

Salary Range:    $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 DOE
