Subject: RE: Replacing wheels on map cabinets?

I just wanted to point out that as far as I know you can't get these
directly from Hamilton/Mayline because they only sell through authorized
dealers, not directly to users. Below is a note that I sent our
department's supply clerk, which was successful. She specified the part
and model number to the contact at the vendor, who asked the
manufacturer about it. Something like $5 for a roller assembly.

It's the bolts that get stripped after a while if the nut works loose
and the wheel becomes wobbly, and they're a custom design that fits in
that wheel assembly, and a bolt from the hardware store won't fit right
or provide necessary clearance. When you can tell that the drawer is
starting to bind and resist opening and making bad sounds, then you
should take it out tighten all the bolts before the threads get stripped
beyond usability. The head of the bolt actually needs a #3 Philips head
screwdriver and the nut something like a 3/8" or 1/2" wrench.
