Those are the first places I went to see if they were available. They
are not available in those scales. There were a handful of (less than
10) in the 25,000 scale and they were all in western Washington. There
was only one 50,000 scale which was also from western Washington.

Carlos,

While printed maps are nice to hold, so many people find the online PDF
versions produced by USGS helpful that I use these links in my library
guide for maps:

   * USGS Topographic Maps http://nationalmap.gov/ustopo/index.html
     <http://nationalmap.gov/ustopo/index.html>
     "US Topo users can turn geographic data layers on and off as needed;
     zoom in and out to highlight specific features or see a broader
     context; and print the maps, in their entirety or in customized
     sections"
   * Historical Topographic Map Collection (The National Map)
     http://nationalmap.gov/historical/
     <http://nationalmap.gov/historical/>
     When searching, remember that quadrangles may be listed as belonging
     to states adjacent to the states being sought.

     The USGS is scanning all editions and all scales of topographic maps
     produced since the inception of the topographic mapping program in
     1884. The exact number of maps is unknown at this time but 200,000
     is the number currently being used until an accurate count can be
     made. All 50 States, Puerto Rico and Trust Territories are included
     in the effort to complete the collection.

     While trying to help a patron find a map, we realized that our
     collection for 25,000 and 50,000 scale is sorely lacking.
     I was wondering if anyone has duplicate copies of the Washington
     State 25,000 and 50,000 scale maps or who are just willing to
     discard them. We would give them a great home.
     Any help you can give us would be most appreciated.
