Subject: ICCOPS - 2nd announcement

Genova, February the 12th 2003
Dear Sir,

following the first announcement we sent on February the 7th, we are
adding
some details about the CoastGIS Symposium.
CoastGIS is the traditional meeting point to discuss the link of
Integrated
Coastal Zone Management with the GIS technology. Methods and
applications
are discussed, always trying to demonstrate them in the context where
the
Symposium is held. In this case the Ligurian Coast, where a unique and
highly valuable landscape has to be compared with the impacts and
hazards of
anthropological pressure and with the often conflicting uses of the
coastal
area
The event will take place in Genova from the 16th to the 18th of October
2003. The event will focus on the following themes:
- Technology and Data
- Integrated Coastal Zone Management and Application Fields
- Education
It will include key note speeches, technical sessions, a poster session
and
a field trip. An exhibition of the state of art in the field of
Geographical
Information technology is also expected.
For the detailed program, the official call for papers and for a more
comprehensive information about the event, you are invited to visit the
web
page at www.iccops.it/activities/iccops3.htm
