Subject:        Old map catalogues

I have several boxes of old out of date map catalogues available and
rather than putting them in the recycle bin I was wondering if anyone
out there collects such things. I find them very interesting but
unfortunately have neither the space to keep them or the time to study
them. I've not counted them but there must be over one thousand, so
it's quite a sizable collection. (found in an old filing cabinet in the
back room of the library). They are predominantly of the following types:

    * Commercial map publishers catalogues
    * Map catalogues from the world's national mapping agencies/surveys
    * Huge range of other catalogues from publishers on cartographic,
      geographic and environmental subjects

Dates are from approximately early 1960's to present. They give a
valuable insight into the mapping being published by these organisations
and reveal much about how advertising of maps has changed and how the
design of maps and map catalogues has evolved over the last four or five
decades.

If anyone would like to take them off my hands please send me an email.

David.
