Subject: Selective Housing Agreements

------------------

Since 1997, the Geography Dept. here at Northern Michigan University had
been a selective housing site for geospatial CD ROMs received through the
Depository System. They recently cancelled this agreement citing among
other things the widespread availability of such data online and the
regional focus of studies (the Upper Peninsula of Michigan)--there is no
need for the variety of data. It was a good idea back in 1997; not so
in 2005.

I wanted to ask the listerv if other Depository Libraries had or have had
selective housing agreements for such items, and if they have been
terminated for similar reasons.

You can reply to me directly. I'll summarize the responses and post
them. Thank you.
