USMap Resources

Regional Editors Needed for the New Edition of the Guide to U.S. Map
Resources

I still need regional editors for:
NYC area
New Jersey
Pennsylvania
Tennessee
Arkansas
Louisiana
Texas (at least 1 more)
Washington
Alaska
California (at 3 others needed)

Approximately 30-40 people are needed to be Regional Editors for the 3rd
Edition of the Guide to U.S. Map Resources. This MAGERT publication was
last produced in 1990; there have been significant changes in the map
world since that time. The 3rd Edition is long overdue and your help is
needed. Preference will be given to MAGERT members.

The Regional Editors will act as liaisons between the Chief Editor
(Christopher J.J. Thiry) and the libraries being surveyed. The Editors
will be responsible to for specific geographic areas. Some will be able
to cover several states, while some will share responsibility for such
large states as California and New York. The Editors' jobs will be to
make sure that ALL libraries in their regions participate by taking
actions that they believe are necessary. On several occasions, the
Regional Editors will "beat the bushes" in order to make sure libraries
complete the survey. The survey itself is on the web. Participants in
the survey will directly email the Chief Editor their information. The
survey will be open approximately 3 months.

The Survey itself will begin on October 15, 2003.
