John,

Looks like you may have to suggest that your patron get their map
appraised by a professional or do it themselves. If you have this
reference book, you can try to find the name of an appraiser. The title
is from 1992 but hopefully you can find someone.

Try also:

1) _Reference Books _For a more comprehensive list of map dealers,
consult the following directory: Eshelby, Yvonne. /Sheppard's
International Directory of Print and Map Sellers/. 2nd ed. Farnham,
Surrey: R. Joseph, 1992.

2) Or, FOR A LIST DEALERS, SEE http://www.maprecord.com/Dealers_US.html

3) Or, for a do-it-yourself appraisal - try these:

*Do it yourself map appraisal bibliography*

current market values of old books and maps. These sources are often
available at larger public and university libraries:

I've checked the most recent version of the map record, and the chart is
not on it. Nor is it in the most recent version of American Book Prices
Current.
