I wonder if anyone can identify the curious projection found at

http://topweb.gsfc.nasa.gov/antarctica_imagegal/Gwynne_pages/experiment2.html

Though I can appreciate the problems involved with choosing a proper
projection to show Antarctica as central, I wonder if this one is a good
choice on a webpage aimed partly at schoolkids.
