Early bird registration for the Australian Map Circle Conference closes
31 December so get in early and save!!

As advertised, the Conference is being held at the National Library,
Canberra, 11-14 February, 2007.
Registration form is at: http://www.australianmapcircle.org.au/amc2007/

All conference papers have now been finalised, and details will be
forwarded soon. Papers will address the following themes:

* Surveying of the National Capital its antecedents
*       Understanding Australia's Marine Boundaries
*       Online Mapping
*       New atlases publications
*       Imagining and charting Australia
While there is conference sponsored accommodation mentioned on the
registration form, I have pasted below a list of more affordable
alternatives close by the Library, but you will need to book well in
advance. Many have their own website with directions, or you can find
White pages maps for them. Alternatively try : http://www.multimap.com
or http://www.atn.com.au/nsw/south/south-a.htm

More accommodation:

The Library is south of the city over Commonwealth Bridge, 10mins by bus
from the terminus. Places listed below are either in or very nearly in
the city, or inner south, ie, about 10mins south of the Library (Forrest
is 5mins, Kingston a further 5 mins).

The Library is very accesssible by bus from either city or inner south.
Apart from the City Walk Hotel, these are all 3 stars or thereabouts,
and should be reasonably priced for a standard room if you book early.
