Hi Dawn,

Much of this data already exists in the following:

World Directory of Map Collections
compiled and edited by Olivier Loiseaux
On behalf of the Section of Geography and Map Libraries
[International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions].
IFLA Publications 92/93
4th Edition
Saur, 2000
ISBN: 3-598-21818-4

It is worldwide in scope. There is a section for each library on size which
includes printed maps, atlases, reference books, gazetteers, globes, relief
models, aerial photographs, remote sensing images, microfilm and periodicals.

Although there is no listing by size, this will give you a place to start.

Julie

holdings. If not, please respond if your collection holds more than 250,000
maps, and I will try to put together such a list. This is the approximate
number held by the University of Texas at Austin, as a starting place.
Princeton claims more than 300,000 on their web site. Others??? I am
particularly interested in university libraries; I realize the Library of
Congress and the New York Public probably has us all beat. So, If you have a
list, or more than 250,000 maps, please send in your numbers!!!! Thanks. >
