Subject: Map and Geog. Info. Collections in Transition Conference is FULL

As per the message I posted here on April 8th, CUAC's conference at the
Library of Congress May 12 -13, 2005 is booked! I would appreciate it if
folks would pass this message on to colleagues who do not subscribe to
MAPS-L (maybe get them to subscribe too?). I continue to receive
registration forms in the mail, in part because of "word of mouth" news
about this conference.

What I AM doing is putting people on a waiting list in case any of those
individuals who are registered cannot attend at the last minute. That
list has 4 names on it right now and I suspect will have more.

I am sorry that I need to close down registration for the conference but
we are working with a specific room limit capacity and must honor that
for both safety and comfort reasons (primarily safety).

What IS exciting is that we are able to generate enough interest in the
current and future state of affairs regarding many issues surrounding
geospatial data and other materials! On behalf of the members of the
Cartographic Users Advisory Council (CUAC) I would like to thank all of
those who have responded to this meeting that we have worked hard to
organize!

Sincerely,

Paige Andrew
