The Society of Cartographers collaborated last month with the
Learning and Teaching Support Network - Geography, Earth and
Environmental Sciences (LTSN-GEES) on a one-day conference
on CPD for Support Staff. Information form the day is now online at
the LTSN-GEES website, and includes the keynote presentations:

Anyone interested in further developing their skills should look at
the programme for the SoC summer school this September where
there is a series of: WORKSHOPS on "Accessibility and
usability of digital map data" - Arcview & the Census, Digimap
& other EDINA projects, Mapinfo & MaPublisher, Digital data into
graphics packages eg Illustrator & Freehand.
Workshops will be briefly introduced all together then split into
question and answer open forum sessions.
