Arlyn

Parts of the records we have for the two different series. We don't have
very complete holdings of many of these series, but a number of states have
both the 25K and 50K with different series designations.

I need advice, please. We were just given some 1:50,000 scale AMS/DMA maps
of Illinois. But some of them are actually 1:25,000. I didn't realize that
AMS/DMA published 1:25,000 scale maps. Are these just a minor variation in
the 1:50,000 series, or are the 1:25,000 scale maps considered their own
series? I have the OCLC record for the 1:50,000 scale series and it doesn't
mention a dual scale. I haven't found a record for the 1:25,000 series, but
it could be out there. I checked the DMA 1:50,000 scale index map (the ones
that we have between 1982 and 1994) that USGS published but they didn't
solve the issue. Are these two scale really the same series, or are they
really separate series? Anyone found an OCLC record for the 1:25,000 series?

Thanks, Arlyn
