The map does seem to deal with the distribution of jellyfish.  One clue
that might help you:  it is illustration 3 of volume 10 (Band X, Tafel
III).  So check if it belongs a set of at least 10 volumes that deals at
least in part with jellyfish.

    I'm hoping for some assistance from all of you map detectives out
    there. I have part of a map that was found in a re-shelving area
    (near the bio books, not the map collection). It appears to be part
    of a fold-out map that fell out of an older text. I'm trying to

    The fragment I have is 33 cm high by 19 cm wide. Based on the
    appearance of Franz-Joseph Land, I estimate that it was printed
    between 1873 and 1926, although because it's a German print,
    Franz-Joseph Land may have been used by the cartographer after the
    Soviet Union took it over.

    My german is basically non-existent, but it appears to be a map of
    the distribution of fish or jelly fish?

    Any ideas on how to figure out what this goes with would be helpful.
