Mr. Carroll has been in negotiations with the Kansas City Public Library
for over a year. Unfortunately, Mr. Carroll has never obtained an
official appraisal, but we want to purchase these for our collection.
If he gets an official appraisal we hope to find a donor to help
purchase this collection so it stays in Kansas City.

Subject: Gallup maps for sale

Below is an email from the road map collector's list. A seller at ebay
has early 20th Century hand drawn maps from the Kansas City map
publisher Gallup. He's been holding them since 1968 and is now selling
them - one by one? Maybe someone should contact him and make him an
offer for the whole set. I'm thinking Rumsey, LC. The seller includes
his name and telephone number in the auction description.

Too bad to separate this collection ...

Angie

Any thoughts on what this may go for when it's all said and done -
