Lewis Carroll's piece about the map at 1:1 is in Bruno and Sylvie
Concluded.
 
Joseph Conrad has some intriguing cartographic references in Nostromo, as well,
for example where he notes that the surveyors laying out a railroad across
Central American mountains were "mapping out their lives" (they also had a high
death-rate).
