As is usual with this oh-so-helpful list, response to my recent request for
images from the Atlas of British Flora was rapid, precise, and just what I
was hoping for. Thanks to Jennie Dienes, Susan Case and one of their
students at U.Kansas, I now have the images I was after. My thanks to them
and to all others on the list who hunted through their library collections
for copies of this Atlas.

I seek a favour, if anyone can assist?
Does anybody have on their shelves a copy of the FIRST (1962) edition of
Perring and Waters' "Atlas of British Flora"? And, if you do have a copy,
would you be willing and able to provide me with a scanned image - GIF, JPG,
TIFF, any format - of any one or two maps from this atlas, that I can use to
accompany a lecture on the early days of computer cartography (For those not
in the know, this atlas was one of the first ever such works to be produced
through the use of computer techniques)?
