The University of Nevada, Reno Libraries seek a tenure-track library
faculty member to manage the DeLaMare Library, including the Mary B.
Ansari Map Library. The DeLaMare Library includes resources in the
fields of earth sciences, engineering, chemistry, physics and computer
science. The Head of the DeLaMare Library implements effective
traditional and technological solutions to the information needs of the
University community, offering research support and knowledge management
in a highly automated science reference environment. Position reports to
the Director of Information Services.

Campus and Environment: The DeLaMare Library is a campus showpiece,
located in an historic brick building on the University's main
tree-lined quad. The University of Nevada, Reno is a Land-Grant
university and major research institution with a student body of 17,000.
The University's main campus is in Reno, a metropolitan area of 410,000,
on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada, minutes from California and
38 miles from Lake Tahoe. Reno is a community noted for its arts and
festivals as well as outdoor recreational opportunities. For additional

Qualifications:
Required: ALA accredited MLS; two years of professional library
experience; significant academic coursework or work experience in an
earth science, physical science, or engineering field; a demonstrated
commitment to innovative and effective user-centered services; knowledge
of issues and trends in scholarly communication in the sciences; and
potential to meet requirements for UNR tenure and promotion.
Preferred: A degree in earth sciences or a related field; supervisory
experience; academic science library experience; web development skills
and knowledge of emerging technologies; and excellent communication skills.

Compensation: Salary range is $56,733-$87,281. TIAA/CREF and other
retirement options; 24 vacation days per year; generous sick leave. No
state income tax or FICA. Tuition benefits for self and family.
