Hello Maps-L:
     A problem with messages sent to Maps-L has just been brought to my
attention.  It appears several messages that the Moderator forwarded to
the Listserv for sending out to Maps-L never got sent by the software.
I have contacted the University's computer specialist for the Listserv
software and we are trying to find the source of the problem.  This
University is in the process of switching from one e-mail system to
another, but that does not appear to be the problem.
     This has been a big surprise to me as we had gone for many years
without any problems.  I will now more closely monitor Maps-L traffic.
I am very sorry for this problem and any problems it may have caused.
     If you have sent a message to Maps-L and you think it did not get
sent out, please contact me with the message.  I have been able to
rummage through the computer files for the last week or so, and have
found 8 messages I think did not get sent out to the list.  I will
resend them after this message.
