I. "THE 'NICE' NYCMAP: A SEPTEMBER 11TH LIFESAVER"
Thursday, April 11, 2002 at Brooklyn Borough Hall 6 - 7 PM

See the new NYCMap (pronounced 'nice'), which depicts in remarkable
detail, the surface structures and subterranean infrastructure of New
York City's five boroughs. The New Yorker magazine has called it the
most accurate map of the city ever produced. A collaborative effort of
virtually every city agency, the NYCMap proved to be an invaluable tool
that enabled responding government agencies to see what was above and
below street level at-a-glance following the September 11 attacks. Dan
McHugh, a computer information specialist will discuss New York City
Transit's contributions to the NYCMap.

Reservations and pre-payment required. Call the New York Transit
Museum's education department at (718) 694-5139 or (718) 694-4623 for
reservations
