        MAPS-L:

I have just learned that FINALLY SilverPlatter Information has
released the Earth Sciences Disc. If you remember, OCLC marketed
this similar product as CD 450 Earth Sciences Data Disc for a few
years. I think it has been over two years since this data was
available. I have spoken with Elizabeth Marley (Marketing) of
SilverPlatter and has indicated that the disc is now available
        from:

                        SilverPlatter
                        100 River Ridge Drive
                        Norwood, MA 02062-5026
                        617-769-2599
                        617-769-8763 FAX

                        800--343-0064

The disc has been available since late June, 1993. I think the
price is about $495.00 (annually ?) and is updated quarterly.
Please check with SilverPlatter to be sure of price etc.

The disk conatinas the same databases as the OCLC one:

USGS Library holdings since they joined OCLC (1979?)
ESDD, USGS Earth Science Data Directory
GEOINDEX, The USGS "Kit Fuller" geologic map indexes
                (without the graphics, of course)
