HA NOI — The 26th Asian Conference on Remote Sensing will be held
November 7-11 at the Melia Hotel in Ha Noi.

It is the first time Viet Nam has hosted an international conference on
remote sensing technology, and 600 international delegates from about 40
different countries are expected to participate.

Participants will exchange information on remote sensing, geodesy,
geographical information systems (GIS), global positioning systems
(GPS), space technology and applications, and the conference will help
promote these technologies and applications in Asia and Viet Nam.

A technical exhibition will be presented at the conference by leading
international organizations and enterprises in these fields.

Deputy Minister of Resources and Environment Dang Hung Vo will serve as
honorary chairman of the conference. The conference is being jointly
organised by the Association of Vietnamese Geographers, Viet Nam
Association of Geodesy, Cartography and Remote Sensing and the Asian
Association on Remote Sensing.

The second Asian Space Conference will be held concurrently, November
8-11. — VNS
