After taking a closer look at the link where the PURL goes to, it seems like they chopped up the poster by area. Click on a state and it will show you the Indian lands for that state.

The link you provided from the USGS is only 10.69" x 7.5" which is much smaller than the original size of the poster but it is usable for people who want to print it out on a printer.

However, there is one from the National Atlas from 2005 which you can find at:

        http://www.nationalatlas.gov/printable/fedlands.html#list

so, it would be more updated than the 2000 edition and it is printable on a regular sized paper.

Subject: Indian lands in the United States

There was a map produced in 2000 with the title "Indian lands in the
United States" and the OCLC record (no. 43715795) included a url linking
to an online version. We've recently discovered that the original url in
our catalog is dead.

The oclc record url was replaced with a purl that isn't the same map (
http://purl.access.gpo.gov/GPO/LPS4337 ) . Does anyone know if the
original map is online out there anywhere? Is this common to go into
records and replace url's with 'replacement' but inaccurate links?

Here is the actual map through the USGS store:
https://store.usgs.gov/yimages/PDF/101516.pdf .

Also, the national atlas has something similar, but not exact either.

Thanks.
