The latest issue of CIVILIZATION (The magazine of the Library of Congress)
has a piece by Simon Winchester, titled "Taking the World's Measure:
Cartography's most ambitious effort survived for decades - only to die when
it was nearly done." It is a short piece on the International Map of the
World (IMW). He is not happy with the death of the project and would like
to see it revived. It is in CIVILIZATION Nov.-Dec. 1995, Vol.2 No. 6,
pp. 56-59.
