American Experience did a great film on the epidemic in the US and there
are maps at their website, http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/influenza/ that
you might find useful.

Hi,

I have a patron looking for world maps showing the spread of the 1918
Spanish Influenza epidemic and also of small pox in the 18^th century.
She would like to use them as presentation aids in class. I've seen the
one on the 1918 flu at
http://www.flucentre.org/files/rr%20i%20fig%2015.jpg, (and also those in
Beveridge, Influenza: The Last Great Plague (1978)) and was hoping to
find either something more robust (in print or online) or something
animated (online) that was fairly decent in terms of visualizing data.
Does anyone have anything in mind, particularly those that show the
globe as opposed to just the U.S. or Europe?

Thanks for your time,

Jeremy Donald
