*Invitation to Participate in the 2013 ANZMapS Conference, State Library
of Victoria, Melbourne*

The conference organising committee is developing a wonderful and
exciting programme for next year’s ANZMapS conference.  Celebrating
forty years since the founding of our forerunner The Australian Map
Curators’ Circle, the conference will include a welcome reception at the
State Library of Victoria (9 April); two days (10-11 April) focussing on
the presentation of papers, and the Annual General Meeting; and a guided
bus tour (12 April) to the Western District to visit outstanding
geological and landscape sites and their depiction on maps.  More
detailed information on the full programme will be furnished
via theANZMapS yhaoogroups email list
(http://groups.yahoo.com/group/ANZMapS), the ANZMapS website
www.anzmaps.org <http://www.anzmaps.org/>and the ANZMapS /Newsletter
/closer to the dates of the conference.

*Call for Papers: Brief Proposals*

The conference organising committee invites proposals for presentations
on any aspect concerning maps or mapping – both historical and current.
Please submit your brief proposal by *30th November 2012* to Greg

*Deadline for Submission of Abstracts*

The deadline for submission of the abstract of your presentation is
*28th February 2013*.  Abstracts should be a maximum of 300 words in
length, including the proposed title of the paper.  Please also supply
the (leading) author’s email address, full postal address, telephone
number, title, given name, surname, brief biography, organization and
position within the organization (if applicable); and similarly for each
co‑author (if any).  For any queries regarding submission of abstracts,
