Dear :er- mappers

 I have almost 50 areal photo sacale: 1/55000

 with grayscale(related to 50 yeasr ago) so I have no more

 informations).Now I want to scan them and finally

 produce a layer. I have several quastion:

 1) what is the best (DPI) during scaning.

 2) what is the best format( image)during scaning.

 3)who can I merge them together and  geo-refrencing.

 4) who can I  control the size(scale) of image when using

  these images in GIS software .

   the elevation of the area is vary (1500-2000)meter.

the system is   Ram: 256    H.D.D :40 G

by the way, my main objectiv is to produce an old layer to compared it

with present information( satelitt data) to study landuse change in this

time.

any help will be appreciated.
