I have not run a color inkjet on anything as complex as a map (which would
be slower), but it is slow.  Maybe a minute per page.
 
The "right" thing would be an 8 pen plotter, but you might have a hard time
finding a driver for that.
 
I think color is very important in complex maps, and you would miss it a
