Re The decision of OCLC to eliminate the GMD, I agree with Phil Hoehn.  At
the University of Florida we followed LC practise from the beginning in
our use of NOTIS on our OPAC.  We have had no difficulties what so ever in
displaying the information as a map.  The only problem has been the minor
one of modifying shared records to eliminate the GMD.  This number was small
compared to the many records that did not have map in the GMD.
