The California Department of Conservation, Division of Mines and Geology
is interested in the use of copyright as a control on the use of
geologic maps in electronic format.  I would like to hear from anyone
who has had experience with protecting digitized map data from unfair
use. If copyright is not the appropriate means of protection, what other
options are available?
