As from last week (this was a surprize to those of us returning to
work on Thursday) new telephone and fax numbers apply throughout Royal
Geographical Society (with the Institute of British Geographers)[I
usually forget that bit!]. We are still learning about these
ourselves, but a couple might be useful to amend existing directories
or other information sources. Emails are not changed - so you can
still order the 4-sheet 1:4 000 000 map 'Peoples of Russia and
     adjacent countries' (1996).

44-(0)171-591-3050 [general tel. no. for RGS (with IBG) Map Room]

When (if?) chaos has cleared itself I will also be able to offer a
personal direct line, in addition to the general one given above. A
further note: AS FROM MARCH 1 1997 this publicly-available Map Room
will be open from 11.00 (not 10.00) to 17.00 hours. We (RGS) too are
     suffering from staff post cut-backs.
