The School of Computing, University of Glamorgan announces a new Masters
degree in Geographic Information Systems for recent graduates who wish to
work or research in GIS, graduates working where GIS can be exploited and
computer scientists wishing to specialise in GIS.
The new degree builds on extensive experience in GIS at Glamorgan. The GIS
Research Centre at Glamorgan carries out research in several areas of GIS
with an emphasis upon the computing foundations of the subject. Interests
of members of the GIS group range across a spectrum of subjects from spatial
databases, automated cartography and remote sensing to terrain modelling,
and 3D visualisation.
Applicability is an important aspect of our research interests and this is
reflected in productive research collaborations with organisations such as
ESRI, National Wind Power, Ordnance Survey, Macaulay Land Use Research
Institute, the Institute of Terrestrial Ecology and the National Museum of
Wales. Research council grant funding has been received from EPSRC, ESRC and
NERC.

You can study in full-time (one year) or part-time (3 years) mode using the
non-computing route (for non-computing graduates) or the computing route
(for computing graduates).

Further details can be found on the web site.
