Subject: Re: Sundown, Sunrise, Sunset

It looks like Sunset may disappear someday soon also:
http://terraserverusa.com/map.aspx?t=2&s=12&lon=-89.49194&lat=45.00333&opt=1
Sunrise is 3 miles straight east of there, so the sunrise
and sunset are surely related.

Other states that have a "Sunrise" and "Sunset" with no
qualifiers like "Sunset Hills", and the approx distance
"Sunrise" is from "Sunset":

AK - Sunrise is 121 miles SE of Sunset.

AZ - Sunrise is 197 miles NNW of Sunset.

CA - Sunrise is 372 miles SSE of Sunset.

GA - Sunrise is 179 miles NNW of Sunset.

KY - Sunrise is 35 miles WNW of Sunset.

LA - Sunrise is 101 miles SE of Sunset.

MD - Sunrise1 is 91 miles NW of Sunset.
MD - Sunrise2 is 0.25 miles ESE of Sunset.

MS - Sunrise1 is 35 miles SE of Sunset.
MS - Sunrise2 is 77 miles N of Sunset.

MO - Sunrise is 209 miles ESE of Sunset.

OK - Sunrise1 is 173 miles SE of Sunset.
OK - Sunrise2 is 161 miles N of Sunset.
(These 2 Sunrise's are 12 miles apart; both are small)

TN is the winner, and is complicated:
TN - Sunrise1 is 83 miles ESE of Sunset1.
TN - Sunrise2 is 140 miles WSW of Sunset1.
TN - Sunrise3 is 41 miles W of Sunset1.
TN - Sunrise1 is 17 miles SW of Sunset2.
TN - Sunrise2 is 219 miles W of Sunset2.
TN - Sunrise3 is 131 miles W of Sunset2.

TX - Sunrise is 254 miles ESE of Sunset1.
TX - Sunrise is 355 miles ESE of Sunset2.

WA - Sunrise is 118 miles SSE of Sunset1.
WA - Sunrise is 197 miles W of Sunset2.

Caveat: This does not include towns that have
"(historical)" in the name.

only commemorated by the Sunrise School (historical place) in GNIS,
although Sunset is considered a populated place. They are on the Kalinke
Quadrangle in Wisconsin. Linda Zellmer
