On Saturday I saw the movie "The Englishman who went up a Hill and came
down a Mountain", with Hugh Grant. It is a lot of fun, and is
about the 1917 reaction of a Welsh village to the pronouncement by two
Ordnance Surveyors that the mountain in their backyard was less than
1000' and so could not be called a mountain. Don't miss the credits,
which use historic maps as a background. The acting is excellent, and I
thoroughly recommend it.
Margaret
PS Sorry if this is repetitious for people who are also on MapHist!
