Subject: Offer: Old CIA maps
Date: Tue, 29 Jun 2004 09:57:33 -0400
From: Mark A. Thomas <[log in to unmask]>

------------------
We received a stack of old CIA page-sized maps dating from about
1968-1976. They are generally all of Middle East countries or regions.
Many copies of each map, so I collated them into a bunch of sets of
about 14 maps each. They look essentially the same as modern CIA
page-size maps, although you'll see things like Egypt identified as UAR,
Sinai as Israeli-occupied, etc.

I will give one set to each requesting library (libraries only, please).
Fine to ask for more than one set, and if I have any left (probable)
then I'll them. I can send them for free to North America, but reserve
the right to ask for postage reimbursement (e.g., send us postage
stamps).

We didn't have these editions in our collection, either because we had a
policy back then of superseding them, or didn't select them, or they
weren't in the GPO depository program at the time.

They're mostly unmarked; a very few are 3-hole punched.

If I get really a lot of requests, I will need to give the smaller sets
(there were an uneven number of each map, so some sets have 13, then 12,
then 11, etc. number of maps).
