Libraries Uncover New Orleans Evacuation Map

UWM Libraries staff member Kelly Leu made a surprising discovery last
week while working on the American Geographical Society Library's
recataloging project: she found a 1958 evacuation map of New Orleans,
with evacuation routes and warnings such as “Do not stop on road. There
will be thousands behind you trying to get away.” The New Orleans map
and others of the city, and of Louisiana and Mississippi, are now on
display in AGSL.
