Dear DOE Maps-L colleagues:

Denise Bleakly, Sandia National Labs GIS Data Team Lead, and I would
like to extend a special invitation to you to participate in a very
exciting opportunity for the DOE GIS and Geospatial Community.

The Journal of Map and Geography Libraries (Geoscapes) has invited the
DOE Geospatial community to participate in the creation of a Special
Issue of Geoscapes titled, " Special Issue on Department of Energy
(DOE) Geospatial Science Innovations"
The intent of this special issue is to present geospatial science and
cartographically related innovations done by the DOE Geospatial
community.
The issue is to profile activities such as:
*       geospatial products and techniques
*       initiatives and programs
* publicly available web resources and portals that are occurring
within, or available from the DOE Geospatial Community.
We are seeking
*       10-12 technical articles
*       Examples of cartographic products
* Lists of web resources or portals

This work can be for any DOE geospatially related activities -- it
doesn't matter who the customer is.

Deadlines are fast approaching! The first deadline is December 30,
2005 for a 50-100 word abstract.

Attached is more information concerning the requirements for this
journal.
Please forward this message to your DOE GIS colleagues!
Your participation is vital to the success of this exciting
opportunity!
If you have any questions please feel free to contact me:

Thank you!
