It is an interesting email, which says NYPL has purchased these, and
no one here in the Map Division is aware of that. So do not use our
purchasing of this as a guide. I have a query in to our Slavic and
Baltic Division to see if they ordered it.

We have just received our 23rd forwarded e-mail about the CD-ROM Atlases
from Russia. The offer comes from Hamilton Global Management, Ltd. in
Tacoma, WA. Has anyone purchased these atlases and would be willing to
comment on their use in a Library? Also is anyone aware if they can be used
with GIS? Finally is anyone familiar with the dealer who is handling the
products? The aggressive nature of their marketing technique has not
impressed us. We are aware that other dealers are handling these products
and have seen their sample products. Before we invest our money we would
like to know if other Libraries have found them useful. Our experience with
some national atlases have made us hesitant to order CD-ROM versions sight
unseen.

We would appreciate any information which the members of the LISTSER. would
be willing to share.
Thank you Helen
