I am pleased to announce that version 2 of the Atlas of Early Printing
went online this morning, and is available at the existing URL of
http://atlas.lib.uiowa.edu

The site has been completely rebuilt, based off the Google maps API and
no longer requiring Flash. The functionality of the old site has been
retained, and an additional layer has been added, which plots date and
place of publication data from the ISTC.

The Atlas of Early Printing first appeared online in 2008. It has been
steadily used in instruction ever since, and the new version will make
its continued use as a teaching tool smoother, while allowing easier
access on tablet platforms as well. Additional layers and contextual
information are currently being developed, and the site will continue to
grow in years to come.

My thanks to everyone who has used the site, offered suggestions, and
spread the word about it over the last five years!

Greg
