Would you kindly distribute the announcement below to discussion lists
you’re on where it would be appropriate, such as those reaching map
catalogers and technical services departments?

Thank you,

(Ms.) Sevim McCutcheon

*Subject:* Registration due date for OLAC-MOUG Conference coming up soon!

It’s not too late! Get your registration for the OLAC-MOUG Conference
postmarked by August 20 and avoid the late fee.

Rocking the Metaverse: A/V Cataloging in a Web X.0 Environment" is the
theme of the OLAC (Online Audiovisual Catalogers) and MOUG (Music OCLC
Users Group) conference taking place at the home of the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame.

Join us in Cleveland, Ohio, Friday September 26-Sunday September 28th,
2008 for the most comprehensive set of non-book cataloging workshops
known to humankind. Conference offerings run the gamut from workshops
focused on specific formats to sessions about such big picture issues as
RDA and the future of cataloging. There are sessions appropriate to
catalogers of all experience levels and libraries of all types.

Lynne Howarth (former Dean of the Faculty of Information Studies at the
University of Toronto) gives the keynote speech; Janet Swan Hill
(Associate Director for Technical Services, University of Colorado)
wraps it up. In between, enjoy fine food (most meals included in the
registration fee) and camaraderie, at events such as the Cleveland
Museum of Art reception.

Conference website: http://www.notsl.org/olac-moug/home.htm

Hotel reservations: The Marriott Hotel, two blocks from the conference
site, provides overflow lodging for attendees at the conference rate:

Marriott Downtown at Key Center with the group, OLAC
