Guess what, it is time to spend money!

Folks around here are INVESTIGATING purchasing a large color flatbed
scanner system--e.g. so we can send folks out with color copies of
     topos, not b&ws, etc.

There must be a convention for scanners somewhere this week, as I made
several phone calls today, and no one was home.

Any recommendations as to sources for quotes? Your good opinion of a
product will help us on this end. [nothing will help me figure out
     where to put the thing...]

Apologies for bothering the list, but a deadline of yesterday looms,
and so I am taking the easy way out, of depending on maps-llers usual
generosity and superior knowledge in things technical.
