Would this do the trick?

There are also the extracts from OSM, but that data is very messy then you
isolate it and try to make it easily usable. It's ok for making a map,
but not so great for analysis.

Subject: Looking for European rail vector data

We are looking for detailed European rail vector data. Specifically we
want it categorized by type of rail (underground, lightrail,
Trans-European Network, high-speed, etc.).

I expect we will need to purchase data, because the various free options
we've looked at do not have the detailed attribute information. Surely a
private company has compiled such a file?
