Colleagues -

For those of you in, or visiting, the Boston area in the next month the map
exhibit extravaganza continues in Boston! As the 'Mapping Boston' exhibits
come down at Harvard and the Boston Public Library we continue to be
rewarded with three new exhibits at the Boston University Art Gallery and
Boston University's 808 Gallery.

The exhibits include 'Mapping Cities' which chronicles the key periods of
urban map production in seven cities: Jerusalem, Rome, Paris, Amsterdam,
London, New York, and Boston and include several maps from the Harvard Map
Collection. This exhibit is at the BU Art Gallery.

The other two exhibits are 'Celestial Images' and 'Orbit: NASA astronauts
photograph the Earth.' These exhibits are at the BU 808 Gallery.

Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday: 10 am - 5 pm and Saturday and Sunday: 1-5
pm and are free and open to the public. The exhibits continue through
February 24, 2000.
