Subject: For the Latin scholars amongst you + a new book I found

Hi, gang -

First, on another list (NOT related to libraries of any kind), there was a
reference to needing to know certain phrases in Latin. One of the answers
contained the following website:

http://www.elec.qmw.ac.uk/staffinfo/eric/courses/mpe/pages0001/latin.htm

Enjoy!

Second, today at Costco I came on the book below which I that y'all might be
interested in reading. I got home and started reading it almost instantly (one
very short side trip to the kitchen to put the groceries away). It is:

Simon Winchester. (2001) The Map that Changed the World: William Smith and the
Birth of Modern Geology. Harper Collins is the publisher and it was $14.99 at
Costco (list is $26.00). ISBN is: 0-06-019361-1.

Enjoy as well!
