Last night at the monthly meeting of the Washington Map Society the speaker (Dan Bailey from the Imaging Resource Center at the University of Maryland Baltimore County) gave an excellent and informative presentation on a project to recreate the United States Capitol and environs circa 1812. Additionally, Mr. Bailey shared with us a very interesting website hosted by UMBC that was created by the editorial cartoonist for "The Economist":
